My Experiences with the social media

Social media is one the of most recognized media industry which is playing vital role in the life of people. With the passage of time the effectiveness and strength of social media is creating and opening innovative and informative ways in the life of people.
A few year ago when internet industry was not at boom and work just only fixed with emails and chatting I joined it. In web 1.0 users was not much freely related to access the contents but then forums was introduced to gather the people and I joined different groups and take part in different discussions. That was my first experience towards social media in 1999.Most of that discussion was on some topic which was fixed by the site owners. Then it continues and Orket and other big names were introduced in social media industry but I was not much attracted with that things.
when I came in Sweden , here I heard lot about web 2.0 and this thing develop my interest that how Web 2.0 made the internet more socialize made it need of people. Today in every aspect if we talk about social gathering then Facebook and MySpace attract me too much. New enhancements in social media provide me and other users’ new innovative ways of thinking and involved the people not with each other but also with media industry.
New media is user generated media and content owner is users itself. I am feeling proud that whatever I want to do I can, I can write on social issues, economic issues, can highlight, save and spread my contents all over my network through Facebook, youtube, yahoo groups, Wikipedia, wiki spaces, delicious and now jay cut and some other new softwares and applications are giving full premises to the users as content owners. New social media is not only exchange of information but it is now big market space for the business communities and itself users. Users are not only writers or content owners but they can earn from their applications on different websites and they are doing.
From entertainment( games, second life, Sims ) to communication(Facebook, Blogs, Tpad) social media has unique identification in the life of people, even myself and number of other people learn and get about other through these social networks.
For me it is best way to express myself and through blogs today I am connected with lot of people. Social media mobilize me to do something, I am contributing and sharing my knowledge through Wiki and youtube but one thing I have felt the due to the access of everyone without any streaming some social issues are producing like

Quantity is effecting the quality (Wiki is again big example, you tube)
Trust and privacy is some time is in threat
People are becoming more machine dependent

But overall affect of the social media impressive and remarkable in today age and I hope with sincerity of people it will grow more and more because only we are creator and we will be destroyer of this media industry in the future.
